The sketch (509 X 663) is below if you want to use it , or draw your own.
Just right click and save as to your hard drive. I have also provided the brush presets in order with detail. .
Import them to your easy palette, you can Download the Brush Presets on Page 1
The Original Sketch is full size. The remainder of the pictures have been reduced to save load time.

Remember to Paint in Mode so you can save your bird
Also after you click on the brush presets in the Easy Palette don't just use them.
Take a good look at the settings to help familiarize yourself with them.

Using the oil paint brush preset with the yellow color, paint the yellow as shown below.

Now with the white brush preset color the white part on the bird.
With the first smudge preset, smudge the color together following the line of the feather.
Now lets use the blur tool preset and blur gently, not too much, it will make the colors blend softer.
Using the darker gold oil preset, and with gentle strokes add where some shadows would be,
like the example below.

Use the bristle smear preset on the tips of the feathers going just a little bit over the next feather following the contours of the feathers and on a few places where two different colors meet.
Now for the branch use the next oil paint brush preset . Then the smudge tool preset for the branch, the oil preset for the tips of the white of the branch, then follow with the next oil preset as in the example below.
Now we are going for our famous Dodge tool, first let's choose the dodge tool preset, and gently apply it where it would be lighter.
Choose the oil paint preset for the legs of the bird and paint it, then use the smudge preset for the legs to blend the color, not too much because you will lose the detail.
With the dodge tool preset again, we are going to apply it where we want the color to be lighter on the legs of the bird. Like in the example below.
And then the burn tool, burn gently where it should be darker to give more depth to your bird
.
Then clicking out of Mode I made a background sky for my bird
And here is the completed bird with background and frame

We hope this tutorial has helped you to understand a little bit more about the Dodge tool
and what it can do.
